How Social Media Managers Can Batch a Month of Reels in One Afternoon
A simple batching workflow for social media managers: plan your pillars, pull clips, write hooks in bulk and schedule a full month of Reels in a single afternoon.

Creating Reels one at a time is how social media managers burn out. You open the app, look for an idea, hunt for footage, write a caption, and an hour later you've posted one video.
Batching flips that around. You do each type of task once, for the whole month, in a single focused session. Here's a workflow you can use for yourself or for every client.
1. Choose three to four content pillars (15 minutes)
Pillars are the recurring themes your account posts about. For a skincare brand that might be routines, ingredients, behind the scenes and customer wins. For a coach it could be mindset, tips, client results and personal story.
Write them down. Every Reel you make this month should fit one of them.
2. Write all your hooks at once (45 minutes)
Aim for 20 to 30 hooks, roughly five to eight per pillar. A hook is the line of text on screen in the first second. Keep each one short and specific:
- "3 things I stopped doing to grow my account"
- "The morning routine that changed my business"
- "Nobody talks about this part of running a brand"
Don't edit while you write. Get them all down, then cut the weakest.
3. Pull your footage in one go (30 minutes)
Match each hook to a clip. This is where most people lose hours, so use a library where the footage is already vertical and shares one aesthetic. With Vault Socials you can download everything you need without worrying about per-clip costs, and the clips look consistent together on your grid.
Save the downloads into folders named after your pillars.
4. Edit in a template (60 minutes)
Set up one Reel template in CapCut or Canva with your brand fonts, text position, colour grade and logo. Then drop each clip in, paste its hook, and export. Because the layout is fixed, each Reel takes a couple of minutes.
5. Write captions in bulk (30 minutes)
Use a simple structure for every caption: a line that expands on the hook, two or three lines of value, and one clear call to action. Write them all in a single document, then copy them across.
6. Schedule everything (20 minutes)
Upload to Meta Business Suite, Later or your scheduler of choice, spreading pillars evenly across the month. Leave a few open slots for trends and timely posts.
The result
In roughly three and a half hours you'll have a month of consistent, on-brand Reels ready to go. That frees the rest of your month for engaging with your audience, reporting on results and taking on more clients.
